Description: Ramah adjusted her dobok, testing her weapons for easy retrieval. Each slid from its sheath with ease. A shiny new combat shotgun rode diagonally across her back near her katana. The weapons rested uneasily across the lumps of scars -- all that was left of the injury that had nearly taken her life.
During her last battle, clearing out a hellhole full of spawn, the battle had turned against them and was nearly lost. Ramah fell, mortally wounded. The mage assisting them had called mage in dire to save her, and Yarashiel, a battle seraph, had come. The yellow-plumed seraph had placed Ramah beneath a healing dome and, with careless ease, finished off the spawn. Then he had claimed her as his own, lifting her from the ground, and sealing her to his use. He had taken her away to a place she was certain was his home, a building that seemed composed of light. He had healed her, but the scars remained.
It had been four months, with no call to join Yarashiel in battle. Ramah had used the time to train with more advanced weapons, to make alliances with others of the second unforeseen who were not yet claimed by a seraph, and to get used to being soul-bonded to a seraph: able to speak mind-to-mind with him, her own Danger Sense extended to cover him, but her will only hers when it didn't conflict with his. And her status had risen like a star in the heavens. She now had a group of five who followed her lead.
Finally, deep in the night, the seraph’s call to battle dire had come. Bonded to his call, battle lust thrumming through her veins, Ramah was ready to fight.
