Yes, there are several universal worship areas set aside in public areas of the base. Worship times are arranged to accommodate specific needs, but you can always arrange times to meet with the "chaplain" specific to your religion.
As for getting into off-limit areas, you learn pretty quick you can't just play "oops, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here." All such areas are always guarded and have intricate, multiple layers of security.

Also, given any occult topic he knows anything about, Alex will eagerly share whatever he has on it. And go on to spin theories if left to it. You'll probably wind up with more information about diet and possible origins than things like 'do bullets hurt it' if you don't keep him focused, though.
