Observations on Jack Grey

First, he is in wonderful shape physically. He appears to be in his 50s or early 60s, but has the strength, flexibility, speed and stamina of a man much younger. In fact, he rarely appears tired, and any such fatigue vanishes quickly, even after strenuous physical activity. He has some skill with a rifle, very good skill with martial arts, but is clearly not part of the group for his armed combat skills.

In personality, he is generally upbeat and optimistic, although he seems to have a streak of grumpiness when confronted with disrespect or chowderheadedness (Mainer for stupidity). He has deep and abiding faith in God's plan, but is never preachy, seeming to believe in the doctrine of free choice. In all likelihood he would seek to spend time with the preacher, and is willing to discuss all matters of faith, religion, and evil.

He also carries a sense of weight, responsibility, and age - he takes his duties as medic seriously, and is attentive to the normal wear and tear of training, but there is something more - when he talks, he seems his age, or perhaps older. He also has a great appreciation of humor, although not particularly funny himself.

Last, he has only a single personal possession - an electronic book, filled with many, many romance novels. He reads every evening, and apparently has not figured out that they are all the same - boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy regains girl, life is wonderful. He does not sleep much.
