As you disentangle yourselves from the webbing to move forward, you hear grinding from ahead as vibrations begin to shake the deck. From experience, you all know these to be caused by the adamantium bits and explosive charges in the torpedo's hull designed to punch through any inner bulkheads that may be blocking you from disembarking.

"The way is clear, Lords. Good hunting" the vox cracks before going silent. You then hear the sound of airtight seals cycling and the gangways beginning to crank open and downward. A hiss soon follows and your armors all inform you of the torpedo's atmosphere mixing with the heavily recycled air of the target vessel, now mixed with carbon and other toxins caused by your breach.

Nero ratchets the charging handle on his heavy bolter as he clambers free of the restrictive webbing. The meaty 'chunk' of the bolt sliding into firing position blends into the general cacophony of the breach.

"Come, Brothers, let us bring them fire, and swiftly."

The gangways open to either side of the torpedo, granting you two access points. The torpedo's tip seems to have breached between a hallway through the left gangway and some sort of mechanical room to the right. The debris and torn bulkheads have been pressed forward, ahead of the torpedo, sealing off any access that may have once existed between the two areas, now leaving your torpedo as the only visible connection.

A number of navy ratings in combat armor and wielding lasguns climb down a ladder from the crew compartments above. "We shall do our best to hold here as a rally point for you as long as possible, lords."

Nero claps a rating on the shoulder, gently for a Space Marine, and staggers the man. "Stand firm, hold your faith in the Emperor, and you will hold this position."

To his Kill Team brethren: "Come, Battle Brothers, let us bring the fight to the heretic! Show us the path, Brother Procel, and we shall teach this filth a lesson they shan't survive."

"Yes, Brothers, let us bring enlightenment to these heathens, and achieve the Emperor's goals for our mission."

Fuegus rechecks his Bolter's action, gripping the Force Staff as its crystal lattice flares to life, casting a sullen orange glow ove the inside of the torpedo. He runs over the Litanies of Fortitude and Mindfulness, clearing his mind for the battles ahead.

Sullenly reciting the Blessing of Death to his weaponry, Procel moves towards the breach.

"The gangway is narrow; it would allow the enemy to slow us down with concentrated fire. I recommend we use the breached room as an entry point and then storm a secondary corridor."

Roland signals an affirmative and falls into place on the right side of Procel in an echelon formation.

Within the mechanical room you find little beyond torn pipes and their controls. By the looks of things, this room some how allowed for pipes of various purposes to converge and their contents redistributed. The room is several stories tall with suspended gangways lining the walls at each tier. There is a pair of double, sealed emergency doors across the wide room, one level up.

Are the emergency doors the only exit to the room?

As the squad enters the room, Procel quickly scans his surrounding, looking for some sort of control panel linked to the emergency doors.

"I will attempt to convince these doors to open. If they do not comply, it may be faster to follow another route instead of trying to break through."

The wide muzzle of Sorin's heavy bolter swings back and forth across the room, scanning the levels hungrily, as he covers the rest of the squad. He waits, watching, while Procel explores the control runs.

"Have we the means to breach this chamber, otherwise, Brother Procel?" he inquires.

Procel quickly analyzes the control panels near the door, looking for something that will allow him to directly interface with the computer.

"If I cannot override the doors, we can apply a melta charge to it, or standard explosives to weaken it so it can be destroyed by hand or with concentrated bolter fire. If this fails, we should not waster any more time on this path, and proceed to the secondary entry point; destroying these pipes from a safe distance could also prove disruptive the enemy's efforts."

Roland will cover Procel from anyone standing on the other side of the doors, waiting for them to open by blocking the doorway.

The controls are fairly rudimentary, and Procel understands them easily. They are simple door controls, with emergency measures to seal should the hull be breached -- as happened when your boarding torpedo punched through it. As such, the default controls have locked all bulkhead doors in the immediate vicinity from opening ,as per the ship's emergency protocols.

Nero stands near the team's entryway into the chamber, on overwatch, lest the enemies of mankind find an avenue to come in behind Procel.

Trying to hack the door with Tech Use

"Cover me, I shall endeavor to coerce this Machine Spirit into serving the true will of the Omnissiah."

The machine spirit is compliant, and you open the door with the hiss and groan of a slight pressure range pressing in through the corridor beyond. You see what looks like a passage running right and left, darkened with a lack of power.

Roland will push forward through the door and turn to the right, looking down the hall.

Even Roland's enhanced senses have a hard time making out detail at a distance down the darkened corridor. Rust shaken free by the impacts of battle clog the air, and debris has also been pushed into the space through shattered bulkheads. These piles of wreckage prevent you from seeing more than a dozen or so yards.

Anyone else doing anything? We haven't head from some of you in a while.

Procel takes examines the left passage, looking for any structural weakness.

"A crossroad; we will need to watch our backs, or condemn one of the passages. If our corrupted brethren occupy this ship, they will probably have been near the bridge or the armory at the start of the operation; I suggest condemning the aft passage, and continuing towards the stern of the ship."

Nero's thudding gait echoes in the rust-choked air as he paces forward to join the others in the corridor.

"Agreed, Brother Procel. Your counsel is key in this mission. I mislike these shortened ranges; our craven enemy will benefit by ambush and trap where they would fear to face us."

The left and right both are filled with structural damage. The boarding torpedo's impact has rippled through the nearby bulkheads and floors literally like waves, tearing much of what is around you apart in the process.

"Remember that though we may be ambushed, our enemies cannot flee our wrath in these cramped quarters; we are the Emperor's sons, and they are not. Watch your quadrant and check the ceiling; when the enemy comes, do not hesitate to bring His holy wrath to them. The Omnissiah blesses your arms, and the Emperor guides your soul."

Proceeding aftwards, Procel opens a comm channel with the boarding team.

"Officer, this stern passage must be rendered unusable; we will not be taken between a hammer and an anvil, even if they are both made of heretic flesh."

"Understood, Lord. But how shall you return to the boarding torpedo once it has been blocked?" comes the reply over your vox.
