"Officer, block the stern passage, but attempt to keep the aft clear. Emperor willing, we will return through it. If not, we will attempt to reach you by the secondary access path nearest to the impact point. Assume standard binary callsign identification procedure on visual or scanner contact. If possible, contact the ship for distractionary bombardment on prow" Procel answers as the squad continues through the ship.

[Steve Trustrum]

"We shall endeavor to hold the point until your return, Lords" the voice returns over the vox.

It would appear the other players aren't posting, so can I assume control of everyone? I will try to limit the schizophrenia

As the squad continues, Procel examines the environment for any indications of chaos influence on the ship, including tormented Machine Spirits.

[Steve Trustrum]

You examine the corridor and look for a terminal with which to communicate with any of the ship's machine spirits. As you do so, your vision briefly blurs and your ears are assaulted by tormented screaming. Shocked, you stumble back a moment and everything returns to normal.

[MorioMortis]

Looking to the rest of the squad, Procel points to the station. "Suspected Chaos presence inside the ship, the Machine Spirit is tormented. Do not trust any automated systems."

[otherjeff]

"We must settle for pursuing and completing our objective, and cleanse it with fire upon our departure. Lead on, Brother Procel - we shall be wary." Nero scowls about at the ship around them, as if he could ward off contaminated machine spirits with a glare. He continues to stump along with the rest of the Kill Team in the Techmarine's shadow.

[Steve Trustrum]

Suddenly, in a bursting flash of imagery, you all share the same insight: before your eyes, the ship's corridors transform into rusted, decaying metal and wires, with pipes that leak refuse like ruptured arteries. Just as soon as the flash appears, it is gone and your sight returns to normal.

[barkman]

Roland reacts to the vision, rocking back on his heels, and attempting to assimilate the vision and the reality of the corridor. "come on, we must find our objective"

[MorioMortis]

Procel walks to the nearest pipe and pulls at it. "The Warp's influence is strong here; thread carefully, what may be a warp-spawned illusion may hide true danger."

[Steve Trustrum]

The pipe begins to loosen from its place in the wall, causing cracks along its length that release steam into the corridor.

[MorioMortis]

"Well, it appears that the previous encounter with the Immaterium was only a sensory event, but the Warp is close to reality in this place, we should hurry and destroy this abomination before a breach can occur." Procel adds as he steps away from the pipe, verifying one last time that it is in fact leaking steam and not some form of noxious fume before continuing down the corridor.

It does indeed appear to be nothing more than steam.

2 weeks and nothing?

Sorry, was waiting to hear about what lay further on in the corridor. If it wasn't clear, Procel is continuing down the corridor after having checked the pipe for Evil Chaos Fun (tm)

Okay. Anyone else up to anything?

[otherjeff]

Muttering a brief prayer to the Almighty Emperor of Mankind, Nero follows Procel as the Techmarine proceeds down the passage.

The beam of the heavy bolter's rangefinder flickers eerily through the clouds of steam.

[Steve Trustrum]

Once again, the corridor flickers between calm and chaos. For a moment, the walls drip with blood, the floors are covered in corpses torn apart, and the screams of the damned echo from all directions. With a blink of an eye, though, it returns to normal.

[MorioMortis]

"More Warp corruption, the Gellar generator must have been out of function for quite some time. Salvaging this ship may prove difficult." Procel adds, moving towards the probable location of the engine room.

[otherjeff]

"Cleansing fire may be our only resort, once our task has been completed." Nero keeps pace, heavy bolter sliding through practiced arcs, lest a hallucination prove more tangible.

[Steve Trustrum]

As the latest hallucination fades, a scream echoes down the corridors. It is difficult to tell its original direction beyond that because of how sound bounces off the many halls, pipes, etc. The scream is soon followed by what you can only describe as a mix of snarl and howl.

[MorioMortis]

Slowing down his pace, Procel peers into the haunted interior. "We are on the Enemy's chosen grounds; watch your sectors, and do not leave your backs to a bulkhead."

[barkman]

"Then let us make haste brothers, and bring the battle to the enemy, so he may feel the Emperor's Wrath!"

[Steve Trustrum]

Okay guys, I've painted the picture about as far as I can -- you've got to decide on some action. How are you going to proceed?

[otherjeff]

"Forward, then, Brothers - the Emperor's Will is not well served by creeping about. Haste and fury will win this day!" Nero picks-up his pace, motivating with movement and declaration so that the Kill Team forges ahead.

[barkman]

Roland moves forward, taking the point of the echelon.

[Steve Trustrum]

As you move forward, the corridor twists and blurs again. Splashes of blood and gore appear all over, and the air fills with howling. Shadows suddenly appear and slide across the wall, as though something had rushed passed an upcoming intersection or doorway with a light source behind them.

[MorioMortis]

Procel follows behind Roland, regularly checking the ceiling and walls for danger. "Movement up ahead; watch the side passages, and maintain your calm, the Enemy will attempt to waylaid us."

[Steve Trustrum]

As you go deeper, Roland notices the corridor continues to flicker back and forth between the two different versions--the normal and the horrific. Your superhuman senses also pick up the sound of something coming towards you--the very-familiar sound of Space Marine armor pounding on deckplates at a run.

[MorioMortis]

Reciting a short blessing for the arms and armor of his companions, Procel looks around for a favorable emplacement for combat, slowing down his advance. Move Silently test if necessary
