A picture is worth a thousand words. In the thumbnails of the cover art on RPGNow.com, for instance, many will bypass a given product, if the cover, itself, doesn't catch their eye. As such, I think that cover art can be crucial to grabbing the potential gaming consumer's eye. I think that a picture of a barbaric sorceror on the front cover would have been a better idea than the cover that you chose to go with.
Ideally, you want to use the cover to immediately energize the person browsing online stores. The cover art can help give your products an advantage over competitors' products. Good artwork can spark the imagination.
At any rate, just some thoughts.
