The SpirosBlaak Chronicles

SpirosBlaak, a setting originally published by Green Ronin, is currently being developed for a re-release by Misfit Studios for the Savage Worlds game system.

In preparation for settings Savage Worlds release, Misfit Studios is producing the interactive story, "the SpirosBlaak Chronicles" in blog format. Presented as the journal of a monk, Brother Cedric Willowdim, who has left his monastery in order to go out into the world and gather knowledge as the final stage of his initiation.

As Brother Cedric travels the Archduchy, he will write more entries in his journal, revealing information about the setting and upcoming products in the process. Readers are able to leave feedback and interact with Brother Cedric by leaving comments and taking on the role of the voices in his head that have whispered to him as a child, creating an interactive narrative.

Entry 4: Orcs In Pursuit is now available. Will Brother Cedric and the caravan be slain by orc raiders with Melatean so near?

Entry 5: My First Battle is now up to enjoy. The orcs have caught up with the caravan, but there is even worse news, for a Son of Shivanos walks amongst them!

Entry 6: Arriving at the City of Sails. Brother Cedric arrives in Meleatan, safe and sound, but has an important task to see to.[/url]

Entry 7: Arranging Travel Plans finds Brother Cedric pondering the grime beneath Meleatan's polish as he seeks for a way to continue his travels.[/url]

Entry 8: Leaving Meleatan has been posted, revealing Brother Cedric's thoughts as he prepares to leave for Vas, in the west.

Entry 9: South and West Along the Coast sees Brother Cedric accompanying the other priests of Logothos west towards Vas. Will they avoid trouble by skirting the Roaming Plains by following the southern coast?

Entry 10: Kav Sighted sees more tragedy when the priests of Logothos have a brush with some kav on the way to Vas.

Entry 11 is now available. Brother Cedric contemplates what is in store for him in Vas and what the next leg of his journey should be.

Entry 12: To See the See chronicle's Brother Cedric's first impressions of Vas, as well as his concerns about its faith, as he munches on some bread and beer at a quiet road-side table.

In Entry 13: Misconceptions and Disillusion, Brother Cedric explains why he has not made any journal entries after nearly a week and why he has come to rethink his previous understanding of faith in the gods.[/url]

Entry 14: Answers for my Questioning finds Brother Cedric pondering the reason for his questioning, and drawing some conclusions that may lead to hard lessons learned.

With Entry 15: On to Taervas, Brother Cedric has finally left Vas and the zealous witchfinders behind. He is now amongst another caravan heading north towards the infamous village of Taervas where he hopes to learn some new skills.

In Entry 16: Back to School, Brother Cedric has arrived at the unusual town of Taervas, home-away-from-home for many of the Archduchy's mercenary companies. While he ponders what to do next, he seeks out a warrior who can train him to better handle himself against he adversities of his travels. He must also deal with the first Voice from Beyond to speak in his mind for nearly a month.

Entry 17: The First Lesson imparts a sort of schooling Brother Cedric had not expected, but at least this hardship has a welcome, if unexpected, outcome.[/url]

Brother Cedric actually begins his combat lessons in Entry 18: Now the Lessons (Really) Start. Learning from a skilled arms master, Brother Cedric slowly begins to realize that martial discipline has more benefits than the mere obvious.

In Entry 19: the Cost of Learning, Twollas speaks of his combat training.[/url]

Entry 20: A Lot to Say ... explains some of what has happened during the long months since Brother Cedric's last journal entry. It seems his journal, along with something else of importance, had been stolen and now he and Master Twollas must do something about it ...

(In truth, it's been a long time since the last journal entry because I've been busy with wedding preparations.)

In Entry 21: Smoke in the Sky and Salty Dwarves, Brother Cedric and his teacher-at-arms, the dwarf, Twollas, arrive at the goblin city, Monvas, and find themselves a room at a very unusual inn ...

In Entry 22: An Unjust Imprisoning we learn why Brother Cedric has not been writing in his journal for so long, and a new avenue of investigation opens up regarding the raiders who attacked the village of Taervas.

Entry 23: Gone Fishing reveals some clues about Taervas' attackers and sees Brother Cedric and Twollas welcoming an unusual addition to their company.

In Entry 24: Westward We Steam, Brother Cedric and his companions continue to steam across Drome Lok, unaware of what awaits them beneath the water's surface.

Entry 25: That is No Fish finds Brother Cedric learning what is troubling the crew, and the answer almost spells the end for the Bountiful Bounty and its passengers.

In Entry 26: The Hills are Alive … With the Dead, the three companions go ashore south of Drome Lok and find themselves at risk from a pack of undead. And worse.

In Entry 27: Finding the Trail. And Trouble., the three companions are separated and Brother Cedric awakens amongst most unwelcome company.

Entry 28: The Shame of Servitude finds Brother Cedric filling a role amongst his captors. Considering the upcoming celebration, though, let's hope his role isn't to end up as a religious sacrifice to a dark god.

In Entry 29: God Has Many Fangs, Brother Cedric comes discovers just what sort of deity his captors worship ... and now he can only hope it doesn't want to eat him.

Entry 30: Worship by Combustion continues Brother Cedric's recollections from the previous journal entry. From the looks of things, kobold religion may not be quiet what this faithful of Logothos was expecting.
