Sparks looks around at everyone then to turns towards Chandra "Dude" Smiling "Trust me, we'll do fine, I have seen and had a lot a shit happen to me getting out of Europe, this should be a walk in the park"

"Besides" Holding up his rifle "Old painless here will make them think twice"

Sparks heads out

how are you guys going to disperse yourselves for the trek to the target? Sparks and Keane on point, but where's everyone else going to be and how are the scouts going to position themselves relative to each other?

Chandra rolls his eyes but then laughs. Stops and says. "You're not the only one who has seen combat. Was Europe really as bad as they say?"

"Besides" Holding up his rifle "Old painless here will make them think twice"

He shakes his head. "You people and your naming of weapons."

I believe Sparks and Chandra were at the back, covering the rear. The rest can deploy themselves as they wish. We'll break as appropriate - or if anybody needs a rest or something. I'd recommend radios only be used in an emergency. As to our positioning (sparks and I that is) - we can stick together or at least close to one another as there shouldn't be too much else out here. The rear guard is more for habit and safety than anything else.

I'd assume that Ian is used to working with a SEAL team, and thus expects his troops to behave like one. If not he'll use some basic hand signals to do vidar's suggestion.

I stay back with my "Holy Perception" On in case of.

I 'm very talkative with my partners but it's a form of deception. In fact I'm scouting for some unholy signal.

Sparks leads the way inland with Keane working as spotter. Regular radio reports allow the rest of you to move up behind them, making a steady progress across the snow. As you draw within a few hours of your target site, Keane spots some movement in the distance during one of the scouts' stops to scan the horizon with binoculars from one of the elevated snow caps.

As per standard procedure, Sparks lays next to him, rifle ready, in case his spotter should find anything dangerous.

"I found... something up ahead, Sparks," Sergio says, squinting through the binoculars. "Do you see it?" he asks, pointing in the general direction of the movement.

Whatever it is they're moving quickly, and seems to be bounding between the gullies and rises as it heads through the snow towards you. They're still too far away to make out any details, but it's definitely alive and too fast to be people.

Steve: what are the wheather conditions like at this time? Did we have anything that may tell us the range of the thing come towards us? How many do we see?

you notice that whatever they are, they certainly aren't bipedal. You do have laser rangefinders, but whatever it is remains out of their range.

Once Chandra hears what's going on up front he'll do a quick scan of the surroundings, bringing up his rifle as he does so. He'll tap his buddy on the shoulder to get his attantion then give some hand signals before moving off.

He'll find some cover where he can see the main group and cover them if necessary. His signals were to tell his buddy to do the same and to scan to the right side.

Then he'll just scan around looking for trouble coming from behind them, on the left side.

You don't notice anything, but the buttes and gullies of snow break up the landscape quite a bit. From where you are now, you likely wouldn't know something was coming at you until it was a few hundred yards from you. The scouts likely only saw it because part of their job is taking a higher, more difficult path than the rest of you in order to keep an eye out for you.

Keep checking around. Looking over at the main group and my buddy occasionally to make sure they aren't under threat.

"Roger that," Sergio replies, propping up his rifle and drawing a bead on the lead 'thing'. Finally some action, he thinks, knowing full well that may be the last engagement of his life.

So far only the two scouts can see it. As it gets closer it appears that it's a pack of wolves moving towards you.

A pack of VERY large wolves.

That seem to use the terrain for cover as they progress with an intelligence that is very unlike that of any animal.

Checking his comrads scout, Randy knows something is wrong.

The divine power flows through his body and with the help of word, he could see what's it going to happen.

His eyes are now colds and unfriendly.

Ok buddies, Randy start his divine vision to get some inspiration about the threat near to come. If he give some advice it wil be with the Metraton Voice

Sergio keeps the lead wolf in his sights at all times. "Boss, should I take them out?" he asks through the radio.

How many wolves are there?

you can't be certain, as they keep disappearing behind obstructions and they're not all visible at the same time, but there's definitely more than 3

Ian ponders the last request, then asks, "Think you can nail all the bogies?"

He gets his own gear battle ready, checking his rifle one last time.

need to know somethings 1.) What are the conditions like now (windy, clam, etc)? 2.) Where does it appear that the wolves are heading...toward Sparks position or the others?

Sparks still watching for signs of aggression from the wolves, then says "any word from the magic guys....any feelings.....good/evil....about the large Wolves/things?"

"I can't see anything from back here. Are there even supposed to be wolves on this icecap?"

Alexander starts channeling essence. If not interrupted, he'll cast Farsee to try for a top-down view of the pack.

"There is something under the pale and white sheet of ice. This beasts are surely be some kind of guards"

He feezzle a little and look all around him a little surprised, seeing his comrades ready for a fight, he took his sidearm ready to give some holy lead to the incoming wolves.

It's windy, so it's pulling snow off the ground and blasting it almost horizontally. It's very dry, though.

You can make them out in the distance as dark dots against the white. You'll need to spend the additional Essence to get out to a few miles to get a closer look.

After a moment memorizing the scene, Alexander dismisses it. "Anyone have a range on those things?"

He then quietly takes a seat in the snow.

Alexander is going into a trance, then channeling 10-16 essence for another try (depending on his estimate and anything the others say). If possible, he'll position his viewpoint behind the 'wolves' looking toward the party.

You're able to see from behind them, somewhat off the mark. Your best guess is there are six of the creatures that, at such a closer viewpoint, do indeed look somewhat like wolves, only MUCH bigger and somewhat ... different.

Can I see anything about them with my Gift?

Actually, Alex will go one further and try to cast Insight on one of them through his remote viewpoint.
