Once the last of the wolves have been dispatched, Jack will motion for Alexander, and indicate he is going to check out the nearest wolf, and indicate that Alexander should come along.

Everyone else notices Jack moving off towards the beasts' corpses.

[how are you moving up, Jack? Cautiously? And is anyone else going or are they staying put?]

Jack Approaches the Coprse

Postby Jack Grey » Wed Oct 01, 2008 3:46 pm

Jack pauses and scans the horizon for enemies. After a minute, he walks toward the corpse of the huge wolf, and kneels down beside it. He seems unconcerned about any hidden enemies, apparently satisfied that Sergio's excellent marksmanship has eliminated all of the wolves.

Alexander will move toward the wolves as well, but will turn his essence sense on the 'bodies' from as far away as he can to see whether they're really inert.

You sense some residual Taint bleeding off into the environment, but otherwise nothing from the Wolves. As for some of your companions, well ... that's a different story.

"I've got you covered, doc," Sergio says, as Grey approaches the downed wolves. "All clear, guys. Sparks and I have provided enough barbecue meat to last until Summer", he adds, grinning.

"You first! Personally I'm not THAT hungry!" He pauses then adds. "Good work, now get back to scouting! There's something I need to check on be with you guys soon." Begin working with the radio, was (or is) it an artificial signal?

"Roger that, but I guess the element of surprise has left the building," Sergio replies. He reloads his rifle and stands up, turning to Sparks. "Ready for another trip through a cold, snow-covered, wind-blasted wasteland full of monsters intento of killing our bodies and devouring our soul?" he asks, grinning again. Sparks notices that grinning seems almost like a necessity to Sergio as breathing.

Spraks, does not return the smile, but looks serious, checking the intel and maps. The slowly looks at Sergio "I like the cold and wind and as far as the killing our bodies and devouring our souls....I say let them try, they will find mine old and tough tasting" Reloads....

Sparks heads out in the most logical course based on his info and intell of the area and the target location

Yes check to see if it was an articial signal which interfered with our radios. And let the captain know what I'm doing and why.

Other than knowing there's nothing wrong with the equipment and nothing currently blocking the signal, you can't see anything wrong. You'd need the signal to be active again and then use other radios to triangulate the source in order to find it.

Ready to Move On

Postby Jack Grey » Mon Oct 06, 2008 12:26 pm

Jack, having taken a look at the corpse of the tainted wolves, returns to the group and indicates that he is ready to move on. If the radios are working and communication is allowed, he will say, "Nice shooting!" to Sergio.

Without using the radio Chandra states. "Try to keep radio communication to emergencies only. Something interfered with the radio and I'm yet to determine what." Then he goes over to the sorceror and points to the demolitions man "You're his buddy now and tail-end charlie." Chandra then moves off with the main group, checking the radio occasionally to see if the signal has returned.

You have no further incidents on the long trek to the station until, finally, the scouts spot it in the distance and report as much.

Send two clicks over the radio, the signal for radio silence - to be broken only in case of emergency ofcourse. Then head to where we'd arranged to meet the scouts so that we can recieve their initial report and begin to plan the assault.

Sergio and Sparks get the message that everyone else is moving up on the rendezvous point, back of their position. From where they currently are they can see several buildings, most of which are surrounded on all sides by massive snow drifts. A few, however, including what appears to be the main building, have recently had the snow plowed and removed from its front, revealing a facing nearly 80 feet or so in length, with one door, several windows stretched along its length, and ending in a rounded attachment with a garage door on its facing.

Several men in white cold weather gear and sporting Army of Revelations gear are revealed from the blindness of the white backdrop whenever they pass in front of this uncovered wall. They look to be walking a perimeter duty.

Is this what the scouts see or their initial report?

You're likely about a mile away, although the lack of landmarks on an all-white landscape makes judging distance difficult. You've counted at least four men walking the perimeter so far, but they go in and out of sight and are dressed much the same, so you can't be sure considering all features are concealed by cold weather gear.

Sergio watches the white-clad churchies through his scope. "That's a fine pickle we're in," he says when the others arrive. "Unless I manage to pick them off without the others noticing, I don't see how we can go in without storming the place. It's not like it's gonna get dark in a couple of hours."

"I don't think there's a silencer big enough for them to not hear you! But you're right," he looks at the others. "Options? I'd rather take them out quietly if I could." Looks back at Sergio. "Do they always travel together?"

The magician settles into the snow. "I've got some invocations that might help. Some limited illusion, or a bit of mental tampering, are probably the best I've got."

Alexander looks nervously in the direction of the base. "If they've got a practitioner of their own around, though, he might see anything I cast."

Does Alexander think a water elemental might be able to manipulate the snow and ice around here?

Chandra looks at Alex a moment, then sighs and nods his head. "We'll call that plan B. The point of doing things quietly is to not give those inside any advanced warning we're coming. However, unless a bolt of lightning comes down from Swarga'lok and strikes them all dead, we may have to risk it."

Depends on what he wants to do. Most aspects of the Element Water invocation would be affected by the extreme cold. You also don't know what the cold would do to the elemental directly.

Chandra grins. "Excellent. A plan forms in my mind." He pauses then asks. "Who else, besides our scouts is competant at sneaking around without being seen?" He waits for the avalanche of responses. "Basically the plan is this, we sneak up on the guards and take them out before they can raise the alarm. To be clear that means slitting their throats with a knife," he says looking at the civilians guaging their reactions. "Now obviously we need to choose the ones furtherest away from the other guards first, then get the others. If any of them go out of sight of the other guards, then that's obviously a good time to hit them. When that's done we then need to take out the barracks first and rig the generator to blow as well, just in case." He looks at the demolitions expert. "Guess who's got that job. After that the rest should be easy. Well that's the plan in broad strokes. Opinions? Broad gaping holes? Complaints? Conspiracy theories?" He looks at the others, especially the Captain.
