Once the man's attention was upon him, Nero inclined his head and spoke, keeping his voice carefully non-threatening as he did. "If you would, show me to my quarters...and then direct me to your armoury and any areas suitable for live-fire training that your Captain may have set aside for us to use."

A rating steps forward, even as others break off to aid your fellow Space Marines.

"It is my honor to be your guide, Lord. As you wish, I will show you to your quarters and then the armory and shooting range that has been designated for your use." He looks over your weapons, apparently not used to seeing weapons of such potency carried unchecked aboard ship. "I am to remain and act as guide to the command bridge at the appointed hour." He steps out of your way and sweeps an arm towards one of the passages leading off from the hangar. "If you would please come this way, Lord ..."

Kerr wordlessly gestures to the rating, not even bothering to check the man's face. There's no need to focus on someone until you see them in battle and know who they truly are. "The cell first, then melee training."

Once at your cell, Aktur shoos off the rating and begs your leave to gather information on the ship. He returns shortly with a data slate.

"Master, as you requested I have found the ship's librarium. It is marked as off duty, however, as a potential moral threat to those not hardened against the ways of heresy and the xenos. It would seem Inquisitor Emeriallus' permission is required for access. Even with regards to yourself and the other lords of the Deathwath."

"Thank you Aktur," Fuegus takes the slate from him and studies the routes and open areas of the vessel. "If you could forward my request to the Inquisitor for the possibility of access to the librarium, I will make use of the gymnasorium until our meeting with the Captain."

The rating guides you to your quarters, allowing you to stow your gear. He then leads you to the gymnasorium where the battle cages are located. Shortly after you begin sparring with a servitor, you notice the Salamander librarian also enter, dressed for a similar workout.

The rating rushes to catch up.

"Only the location guides are in there. Anything to do with your team is not kept in the vessel's systems, lord. That information is far too sacred for any eyes but those sanctified by your holy mission."

Nero nodded, falling in alongside the rating as they made their way down the ship's enormous thoroughfares. His own genetically enhanced physique along with the servo-muscular augmentation of his power armour made bearing the heavy bolter he carried with him a trivial task, and his eyes reflexively scanned each hallway and corridor they walked down for optimal firing positions, killzones, and cover. It was a force of habit, ingrained into him after years of training and discipline and further refined by actual combat experience, and it had served him well in his many years as one of the Emperor's chosen.

As the rating led him towards their destination he glanced aside at the man, making special note of his face. "What is your name?," he asked, keeping his tone conversational as they walked.

"Ah, brother!" Kerr smiles widely and dips his head in greeting. "You have the same thought as me then? Will you cross blades with me? I'd be honoured to test my skill against yours."

As the rating led him towards their destination he glanced aside at the man, making special note of his face. "What is your name?," he asked, keeping his tone conversational as they walked.

Gunner Havolk, lord. Draid Havolk. I'm assigned to one of the gun crews on the decks below, but know my way around most of the ship."

"Ah, brother!" Kerr smiles widely and dips his head in greeting. "You have the same thought as me then? Will you cross blades with me? I'd be honoured to test my skill against yours."

Fuegus, this is directed at you as you enter the area containing the practice cages.

With a bow Fuegus steps towards the training arena. "I should be honoured as well. It will be good to be moving after the shuttle ride." Looking over to the weapons racks, he selects a stout training staff, testing its weight with experimental swings.

Kerr selects one of the larger, practice swords for his own weapon, swinging it in the air a few times to tests its weight and balance. Content with his choice he entered the arena and bowed his head. "Ready to begin, brother."

With a bow, Fuegus entered his guard, watching the Storm Warden move. He strikes to the left, looking to bring Kerr's guard up before suddenly chaning his target and striking to the right. Feint, then Standard attack.

After entering the cage, Fuegus is first to react (he won initiative), feinting to the left with his staff (feint attempt) but Kerr is not deceived (Fuegus fails his WS, Kerr succeeds.) Despite this, Fuegus follows up with a strike with his staff (standard attack).

How does Kerr respond?

I trust both the Lord-Captain and the Lady Inquisitor to have laid in sufficient provisions for us of course, but I prefer taking the measure of such things first-hand rather than relying solely upon the output of cogitators and data-slates."

"And," he thought to himself, "seeing what supplies the Lady Inquisitor has seen fit to bring aboard may also reveal crucial information about the nature of our mission. As it says in the Codex, forewarned is forearmed."

As he flicks the staff away, he raises from his crouch to bring the sword around in a tight arc, Fuegis' lower side being the target.

Once Gunner Havolk had shown him to the quarters that had been assigned to him for the duration of his transit...a perfectly functional, austere dormitory cell...he indicated for the rating to lead the way towards the armoury, taking mental note of the directions as they walked.

He takes you through the ship's corridors, all of which are in top shape. All crew you pass on the way hurry aside, so as not to impede you. You notice most do not seem as cowed by your presence as you've come to expect among mortals. Although few meet your eyes, most keep their heads up and move on about their business.

When you arrive at the armory, you see it is guarded by a squad of security crew in body armor and armed with las rifles. They allow you to pass them, into the vault wherein small arms and ammunition are stored. You notice the main armory is broken into sections, each with its own solid security door and required pass code.

Gunner Havolk leads you to one such vault and tells you the code. "All kill team members will be given the code at some point, lord. Within you will find space to store your weapons and armor. Once your team's arsenal has been accounted for, the armorers will ensure a good stock of ammunition and the like is brought forward for your use."

As Nero steps into the armoury, Procel, who was inspecting the weapon vaults, carefully verifying the integrity of the machine spirit within their locking mechanism, and points at the rows of small vaults.

"It is almost sad that such proud wargear should be stored hidden away, isolated from it's brethren. May the Omissiah bless them, that they may find purity and purpose within their confinement." he states before turning to face Nero.
