Book of Passion Barbarian

In many ways, barbarians can be seen as passion personified. Fonts of pure animal instinct, they are wild and dangerous. Some barbarians use this to their advantage while seducing partners, while others channel lust in a more fundamental way.

New Rage Powers

Animal Magnetism (Ex): The barbarian can use Charisma-based skills normally during a rage, without having to use moment of clarity.

Improved Animal Magnetism (Ex): While raging, the barbarian gains a +1 morale bonus on Charisma checks and Charisma-based skill checks. This bonus increases by +1 for every four levels the barbarian has attained. A barbarian must have the animal magnetism rage power before selecting this one.

Lust Totem (Su): While raging, you roll twice and take the best result on saving throws against death and energy draining effects, and against spells and effects that inflict the entangled, paralyzed, or staggered conditions. You also can stand up from prone without provoking an attack of opportunity, and gain a +1 bonus on Escape Artist checks to free yourself from a pin. The bonus increases by +1 for every lust rage power you possess, excluding this one. A barbarian must be at least 6th level and have the animal magnetism and improved animal magnetism rage powers before selecting this one.

Lust Totem, Instinct: Once per rage, you may induce a rage in one fascinated opponent, swaying it to your side. The target gains all the benefits of your rage (including greater rage and mighty rage) and is affected by dominate person, as if cast by you. As long as the effect lasts, you must spend one additional round of rage per round. If you decide to stop paying this cost, the opponent’s rage and dominated condition end, and it’s fatigued as normal after a rage. A barbarian must be at least 10th level and have the lust totem pheromones rage power before selecting this one.

Lust Totem, Pheromones: All opponents in a 30-foot radius who could conceivably be attracted to you are fascinated. This is a scent-based effect, but otherwise functions as a bard’s fascinate bardic performance for as long as you are raging. Creatures with the scent ability have a –4 penalty on their Will saves to resist the fascination. You also add your Charisma bonus to your Escape Artist checks to free yourself from a pin, in addition to your lust totem bonus. A barbarian must be at least 8th level and have the lust totem rage power before selecting this one.

Bloodrage Powers

Some barbarians gain rage powers from traces of a bloodrager bloodline that runs through them. Such a barbarian gains access to the following rage powers associated with the lustful and sadistic bloodrager bloodlines.

Lustful Blood (Su): While raging, the barbarian gains a +2 morale bonus on all saving throws against spells of the charm or compulsion subschools. Furthermore, she gains a +2 morale bonus to Sense Motive checks to oppose seduction checks. A barbarian must have taken lesser lustful blood to qualify for this rage power.

Lustful Blood, Greater (Sp): While raging, the barbarian is under the constant effect of eagle’s splendor. A barbarian must have taken both lesser lustful blood and lustful blood rage powers to qualify for this rage power.

Lustful Blood, Lesser (Su): While raging, the barbarian stupefies her foes with her supernatural presence. Each time the barbarian confirms a critical hit, the target must succeed at a Will saving throw or be dazed for 1 round. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the barbarian’s level + her Charisma modifier. This is a mind-affecting compulsion effect.

Sadistic Blood (Ex): While raging, the barbarian gains a +2 bonus to saves vs. pain effects and DR 5/– against nonlethal damage (this stacks with DR possessed by the barbarian). A barbarian must have taken lesser sadistic blood to qualify for this rage power.

Sadistic Blood, Greater (Su): While raging, whenever the barbarian hits a foe in combat, she can choose to convert the damage inflicted into nonlethal damage. If she does, the target must succeed at a Fort save or be sickened for 1 round per point of damage taken. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the barbarian’s level + her Charisma modifier. A barbarian must have taken both lesser sadistic blood and sadistic blood rage powers to qualify for this rage power.

Sadistic Blood, Lesser (Su): While raging, whenever the barbarian confirms a critical hit, her weapon is considered to have the vicious property, except the extra damage inflicted is nonlethal.

Aroused Rager (Archetype)

Some barbarians indulge their sexual instincts more than others, drawing great energy from them but also leaving their will weakened.

An aroused rager has the following class features.

Easily Swayed: The aroused rager doesn’t gain bonuses on Will saves while in rage.

Raging Passion (Ex): Whenever the aroused rager engages in acts of passion or seduction, the first two rounds of her next rage don’t count for the purposes of her daily allotment. This is called an aroused rage. A barbarian can only have one aroused rage at a time. The benefit lasts for an hour.

An act of passion is everything which requires a successful Perform (sexual) check (usually DC 10), and the assistance of a partner, from a passionate kiss to full intercourse (evil barbarians don’t require the partner to be willing). After the first time within the same day, the barbarian’s Perform (sexual) checks to attain an aroused rage take a cumulative –2 penalty, as both she and her partner are more tired and indisposed.

After an aroused rage, the barbarian is fatigued as normal, then she becomes tired (see appendix) for 10 minutes plus 5 minutes for every previous aroused rage she experienced in the same day. If the barbarian rages again while tired, she’s then fatigued for twice the usual time.

Naked Fury (Ex): At 3rd level, the aroused rager gains her Charisma modifier plus a +1 morale bonus to AC when wearing no armor or shield. This bonus increases by +1 for every 3 barbarian levels thereafter. This ability replaces trap sense.

Love Wrestler (Ex): At 14th level, an aroused rager gains a +4 bonus to her CMB for drag, grapple, and trip combat maneuvers. This ability replaces indomitable will.

Rage Powers: The following rage powers complement the aroused rager archetype: animal fury, animal magnetism, beast totem, lesser beast totem, brawler, come and get me, fearless rage, flesh wound, greater guarded life, guarded life, improved animal magnetism, increased damage reduction, inspire ferocity, internal fortitude, knockdown, lust totem, lust totem instinct, lust totem pheromones, primal scent, quick reflexes, reckless abandon, regenerative vigor, renewed life, renewed vigor, renewed vitality, roused anger, scent.
