ConCarolinas and the Rogue Mage RPG

I will be appearing as a guest at ConCarolinas (www.concarolinas.org) the weekend of June 3-5, 2011, in Charlotte, NC. In addition to sitting on panels about the gaming biz and crossover fiction/games, I will be running two sessions of the upcoming Rogue Mage RPG. NYT bestselling fantasy author Faith Hunter, upon whose Rogue Mage novels (Bloodring, Seraphs, and Host) the game is based, will also be appearing at the sci-fi convention. Gamers signing up for the Rogue Mage gaming sessions will be given playtesting credit in the RPG. We’ll also have some giveaways. Rogue Mage Played at MACE: West

I ran my second playtest game of Rogue Mage at the MACE: West gaming convention  on Saturday, March 26, 2011, in Hickory, NC. Six players ran through my “Trouble in Trinity,” an adventure requiring the digging services of a Visa-carrying, earth neomage to acquire a certain something buried beneath mounds of snow and earth–in a very dangerous area, of course. The players easily picked up on the d20-based rules tweaked from the world’s most popular superhero role-playing game, including the magic rules, so all was good in that regard. Some players did not particularly like the game’s wound system, preferring the one from the popular Savage Worlds rules system, which had a great following at the convention. As Rogue Mage may later be converted to that system, these players may eventually be satisfied in that regard. Overall, the game was truly a blast! I intend to offer another game or two of …

The Print Deal Announcement is Finally Here! To finally let everyone in on what’s been going on, since the end of last year I’ve been talking with some companies about taking Misfit Studios products to the next level, meaning print. With all the paperwork now signed, it’s safe for me to say that we have signed a deal with Cubicle 7 to act as our print partner. Cubicle 7 Print Deal Cubicle 7 is a company that has been on the rise in the gaming community and has been making a name for itself not only for its products, but also for taking on publishing partnerships with small, independent companies like Misfit Studios, but what does this mean for you, our customers?
