Just this past week, I released Bite Me! Wereblooded for Pathfinder into the wild. Part of my Bite Me! kickstarter, this is a pdf by Ben McFarland (2012 Ennie winner for best adventure for Kobold Press’ Streets of Zobeck–which I wrote two adventures for and some characters, items, and feats) that details the humanoid scions of natural lycanthropes and humanoids, filling in the gap of a half-breed character for weres. There’s also a monstrous version inside that looks more animal than humanoid. These two races are done up as per Paizo Publishing’s Advanced Race Guide for Pathfinder, so you get alternate traits and favored class bonuses and the like. The pdf details three clans: felis, lupis, and ursus–though there’s room for many others, and I’m sure we will be expanding upon that. Anyway, the big news is that the pdf hit the Paizo Blog last night! We are so happy …
Darkness is Coming!
Spawn, Minor Powers, Major Powers, Dragons, and Dark Mortals are lurking everywhere in the Faithverse that is the Rogue Mage game. Now, bring them into your game with the release of the Creatures of Darkness line from Misfit Studios. Creatures of Darkness Volume 1: Spawn is already available. Minor Powers will follow this week. While the current version of the Rogue Mage RPG: Roleplaying in the World of Faith Hunter uses Mutants & Masterminds 2e as its game engine, we are in the works of converting those monsters to Pathfinder, and they should release a week or two behind the M&M versions, allowing you to bring Darkness to your favorite fantasy RPG, as well. So introduce your players to these twisted villains–they won’t know what hit them!
Putting Some Bite into Lycanthropy with Bite Me (Part I)
The following is Part I of a series of suggested feats for lycanthropes for the Bite Me! The Gaming Guide to Lycanthropes currently just over 1 day away from ending on Kickstarter. Putting Some Bite into Lycanthropy (Part I) By Thilo Graf Why do you fight your nature? I can smell your fear and excitement, pup—the adrenaline pumping through your veins, the heightened senses, the rush of blood and primal fury welling up from deep inside. I can see your struggle, taste the building pain in your throat, and hear your growling hunger. Every moves a tribulation, pup, a fight for control. But do not fight it. Succumb to pleasure, to the rapture of ripping into tendons and the ecstasy of warm blood filling your mouth. The primal force will grant you strength, power. Partake of it. Cherish it. Celebrate your communion of flesh. After all, the man before you …
Bite Me! The Gaming Guide to Lycanthropes Kickstarter
Christina Stiles is leading a kickstarter for the definitive Pathfinder book on lycanthropes. Here’s the info on the project: Who doesn’t love lycanthropes? Bite Me! The Gaming Guide to Lycanthropes provides rules for playing were-creatures in a Pathfinder Roleplaying Game campaign—no reason a character should be benched just because she contracts lycanthropy, after all!—as well as new were types, traits, feats, and magic! The book focuses on useful information for lycanthropes for all Pathfinder campaigns, and provides specific information on lycanthropes in SpirosBlaak, a setting with a long history of Kav (lycanthrope) wars; Midgard (property of Kobold Press); and Vathak (property of Fat Goblin Games). Christina Stiles, a long-time industry veteran and award-winning writer and editor, will lead the project. Recently, she’s been a lead designer on several projects for Kobold Press, including Journeys to the West, Midgard Tales, and (replacement designer) Dark Deeds in Freeport. Newcomer Dawson Kriska (Journeys …
Christina and Rogue Mage at GenCon!
>p>I’m back from a whirlwind vacation at GenCon, where I served as an Industry Insider Guest of Honor. I served on some great panels, and ran two games, one of which was a pick-up game of Rogue Mage with several Open Design fans. My favorite panel was called How to Get a Woman (to Play your Game). Jess Hartley, Michelle Lyons-McFarland, Susan Morris, and Elizabeth Shoemaker Sampat discussed things that gaming groups should do to cultivate a welcoming atmosphere for women gamers. It was an historic moment at GenCon, for there have never been as many women game designer guests of honor at the show before. I had someone snap the following picture of us all to commemorate it. Also, like Steven (Congrats, buddy!!!), I ended up winning a gold Ennie at the show for Best Adventure for Streets of Zobeck for Open Design (Wolfgang Baur’s publishing company, also called …
