What’s Going on with Misfit Studios
We had plenty of new stock art in January, as normal for every month, but the big news was the (finally) release of Darwin’s World, Nuclear Edition. This is the core rules and setting book for this updated, revised, and expanded re-release for the Savage Worlds RPG, updated to the Adventure Edition rules. It’s taken nearly five years of editing, writing new content, coloring the artwork, and waiting on approvals, but it’s finally here in print and digital!

Darwin’s World, Nuclear Edition
Darwin’s World: Nuclear Edition is a revised and expanded version of the previously released post-apocalyptic setting. All game mechanics have been updated and revised for the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (SWADE) role-playing game.
The Twisted Earth is a wild, inhospitable world of mankind’s ruin after a series of devastating wars known as the Fall brought humanity to the brink of extinction. In a world where radiation has altered the very course of nature, humanity has nearly ceased to exist as it once was. In Darwin’s World, mutations and genetic variations are the edges that separate survivors from prey.
Includes:
- Post-Apocalyptic Characters: New races, Edges, and Hindrances for creating post-Fall characters, plus the Background mechanic.
- Mutation: Minor and Major Mutations and Defects define how your character’s genes have been changed, for good and ill.
- Artifacts and Gear: Discover a horde of new equipment and gear developed by the Ancients and by post-Fall survivors. Firearms, vehicles, power armor, medicine, and more await! Includes new weapons and gear not seen in previous editions.
- Adventuring and Hazards: The Twisted Earth and the dangers it contains in the form of diseases, radiation, and more are provided. Advice on Gamemastering a post-apocalyptic setting is also included.
- History and Locations: How the Fall came to be and what happened afterward helps Gamemasters and players familiarize themselves with the setting. Building on that are maps and detailed descriptions of both generic communities and sites, plus specific locations throughout the Twisted Earth.
- Terrors and Wastelanders: An arsenal of terrifying creatures, fearsome and mysterious factions, and worrisome and wondrous wastelanders are all found within. Terror Templates have been added to further customize creatures to keep players on their toes.
- Scavenging Rules: Comprehensive new rules for finding salvage throughout the Twisted Earth and on its inhabitants. No matter the type of encounter you’re running, it’s now easy to determine what can be scavenged, how much of it is found, and the condition it’s found in.
- Terror Races: Want to add unconventional characters? Playable race statistics are now provided for many of the Twisted Earth’s more interesting Terrors.
All Darwin’s World: Nuclear Edition products are designed using the SWADE edition of the Savage Worlds game system.
